The HEadshots
The Experience
Let's face it. It's weird standing in front of a camera. You can't see yourself. You're staring at a lens. Worst of all, you've probably been told, "Okay, 3-2-1-Smile!" Out comes your fake smile and an expression that lacks the confidence and approachability of a killer headshot.
Our On-Location session will be all about creating a fun, relaxing environment to ease your nerves and help us get "the Look." We will smile (and often laugh) our way through what will be a truly memorable photography experience.
“I don’t usually like the way I look in photos. After only a few minutes of guiding me behind the camera, Bryan was able to capture a genuine smile and expression of confidence that otherwise would not have existed. I could not be more thrilled with how my headshot turned out.”
THE PHOTOGRAPHER
Hi, I'm Bryan - Possibly your new favorite headshot & branding photographer*
*Undoubtedly in Your Top 10
I know it's cliché to say, but I'm truly fortunate to be able to pick up a camera, take pictures of amazing people and call it "work." The creative and collaborative process of headshot and portrait photography is both challenging and rewarding. The challenge is working with each client, often intimidated by or shy in front of the camera, to get the perfect shot. The reward is when we friggin' nail it.
FAQ
What makes a great headshot?
I love this question! Here are my rules, guidelines and principles for your killer headshot:
1. Your posture and expression will exude confidence, competence and approachability.
2. You will be photographed with a lighting setup that is flattering and appropriate for the desired image style.
3. You must look like you - Hirers, prospective clients or customers should be able to recognize you when they see you in person.
5. Only light/moderate retouching - You should look like you on your best day (Not your best day 20 years ago).
6. The mood of the photo shoot has to be fun and enjoyable - The only way to get a genuine smile is to genuinely smile.
What if I hate having my picture taken?
Then you're completely normal. Some people (models come to mind) just know how to work a camera. The other 98.9% of us are REALLY awkward when there's a lens pointing at us. Don't sweat it, though. I will never just drop you in front of the camera without coaching you to get the most flattering angle and facial expression.
Here's how EVERY photo shoot goes...
1. The Deer in Headlights Look
2. The Fake Smile
3. Bryan Says Something Funny
4. The Real Smile
5. The Look
Do you match existing photos?
Absolutely. If your company has existing photos taken by another photographer, show us the photos or your brand/style guide and we will do our best to match the background color and lighting.
Where are you based and do you travel?
I am based in Westchester County, New York. My session prices reflect on-location photo shoots within Westchester. I bring my studio lighting and equipment to your home, office or single outdoor location.
I often travel to New York City and the surrounding tri-state area for photo shoots. However, there is a travel fee based on your location and distance from Westchester.
When will we get our photos?
Clients will receive an online proofing gallery link with all digitally-processed photos within 24 hours. Once the individual client makes their image selection(s), the fully-retouched final photo(s) are typically delivered within 48 hours. High-Volume & Team/Company Headshots are typically delivered within 5-10 workdays once all image selections have been made.
